Welcome to Path of Grace. If you are reading this, it means you are a part of the vision that God has placed in our hearts! You and your family are part of the Path of Grace family and we are thrilled to welcome you all in!
God began birthing in us this vision just a few years after we adopted Brian. We knew our son, Brian, would need some kind of contiunuous care support throughout his life, and we knew we wanted Brian to live a life that was purposeful and God-pleasing. So as we watched our son grow and become a loving and helpful teenager, we noticed how much he loved animals, especially the care of animals and how he would get excited to help with groceries, how much he loved helping anyone who needed an extra hand, God began fine-tuning what a future for Brian could look like! We pictured a home with his peers, volunteering in the community- maybe nursing home, being a greeter at Walmart, and, somehow, caring for cows and other animals in a farm-like setting.
We were so convinced that this was God placing a dream in our hearts for Brian and his peers. We found property just a mile from our current location. But God had a different plan and His timing was "not now." We ended up selling the property and as the years passed more of the puzzle pieces began to fall into place. God's timing is always perfect and here we are at our current location, our actual home, and farm!
We are so thankful that all of our kids, grandkids, and our extended families, have been so supportive of each decision along the way. We cannot imagine doing any of this without their support, help, and total involvement! We thank and praise god daily for our family!
This too, is part of our dream for you family, that you and all of your loved ones would continue to be involved in your family members' life. Bring in a meal for the whole house, organize a house movie and popcorn night, maybe your family loves bowling, or campfires and hayrides. Whatever it is, your loved one will enjoy and thrive with continued contact with you all and, the rest of the house will love it as well. One of Brian's favorite thingss to do is to grab a drink and have a chat! His favorite is a "red solo cup" because that means a party is happening with everyone bringing a dish to pass and lots of people to talk to!
Is is with grateful hearts full of gratitude that we welcome you and your loved ones to Path of Grace. So, grab a "red solo cup" or pour yourself a cup of coffee and enjoy your time on the farms!
Blessings to you,
Bob and Caroline Deppe
